The Frame Without the Picture

Is what John Stott describes Christianity without Christ.

I never realised that. He says it's not a creed, code nor cult, it's not what you believe, nor the rules you swear by, neither is it the way your worship or the ordinances of your faith.

It is Christ!

My goodness! How could I have missed it, how come no one made sure with me! If John Wesley missed it, anyone can! Haha... St. Paul didn't miss it, not after he had that Damascus Incident.

I may never see Christ while I am alive but I don't need that, I believe. I want to know that surpassing greatness which St. Paul says is so much greater than the things of this world, the things when compared with knowing Christ is rubbish!

I would have been sure myself, but I was defeated all the time it stunk. Now I know, I missed it. But no more because I have decided to follow Jesus! My Saviour and my Lord!

Stand

Teach me O God to stand on my feet
To lean not upon my own understandings
But stand only on the trust I have in Your ways

Teach me O God to rely on You
And not on any other Man
Nor on any thing of this World

You say that pleasures are at your right hand evermore
Let me taste of Your goodness O Lord
Turn not your eyes from me, cover me with Your blood my Lord

Grip and Rip

I was listening to Mineral's debut and very indie album, The Power of Failing. O the power of failing, what a beautiful string of words.

I was telling Daniel that the songs are very raw and in your face, so much that it rips your heart right outta your ribs.

Then I added something which Daniel said I put nicely, it grips your heart so tight you wanna rip it out yourself.

Grip-a-rip, take a trip to heaven or hell. Haha, string-a-words.

The Power of Failing. The beauty of error.

Untitled

Naked I lay in my room
Pitch black surrounds
The phone lies on my belly, the ear piece still warm
Tears they hang on my eyes
Like baby monkeys clinging to their mothers
Cold air filters through the vents
Forcing me to feel the infinite loneliness
* * *
Yet when I am most alone I know that I am not

Funny Fun

5 tickets for a movie: $21 (2 free tickets 'cos Joey and I won them in Church during some contest)

1 World of Warcraft Large Combo (Popcorn + Iced Tea): $8.50

Time with the people I love all at once: Priceless

The Longest Yard is a good show for friends who are in need of a good laugh and something to laugh for after a long while!

Go catch it! Adam Sandler's role was surprisingly serious and as I think about the movie it's actually quite a dark movie, well compared to Sandler's other movies... But it's a good one!

Safely into Hell

Something I read really struck me..

"Murder is no better than cards if cards can do the trick. Indeed the safest road to Hell is the gradual one-the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts,"

- SCREWTAPE in C. S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters
