Fun Sun-day!

Started the Sunday with the 2nd Service with my dear girlfriend! Prayed with the worship team and proceeded to play for Youth Service, I thought everyone played well! Yes! We ARE improving!

Let's all "improve" our walk with God, and walk closer and closer with Him!

Service was followed with auditions for the Evangelistic Gig! Jon and I belted out "Nes" and "Let Go", I thought we played pretty well! Heh... I hope I get in! Like I told Jeanie, I wanna rock for the Rock!

Had lunch with Ricky and Xiuqing, I love these two, very cute and fun(ny) to be with! And they look like they appreciate my sorta humour, so that's added incentive!

Ricky and I intended to head down to the Sims Drive, Swee Lee but we were greeted not only with chained up gates but two big black and fierce paria dogs! Singapore so dangerous meh?
I don't like this whole image or lack of it they portray. Surely such a rich company could afford better security measures than 2 dogs! Then again, it's better than hiring a security guard, cheaper and more effective!

So we ended up heading down to hastily see Dorcas off, after getting a tour of the T2 carpark, only to realise that Dorcas was departing from T1, aiyah a lot of funny mix ups, thank you Ricky, you are very patient!

Hung out at some caffe thingie at T1 with Ricky, XQ and... Liying! A good time of laughter and all that, heh and the banana muffin tasted like egg cake! ...

Headed down to my paternal uncle's place for his birthday dinner! Steamboat! Yum! The best part was meeting my cousins and going back to the place where I spent a good part of my childhood days with 'em!

*croons* Loooong agooo... Soooo faaaar awaaayy...

And so I'm home now and I need to go bom bom!

TGIF!

I am not sorry for the lack of updates because it seems like no one reads my blog anyway, only when I post up sensational posts then I get a flurry of comments! The only person who told me to update was Joey! Thank you for reading, but how come you never comment!

But anyway I've come to realise I don't have expectations of my friends to keep checking my blog, really, I don't. So I don't expect myself to update also. Maybe it's because I don't update that's why you don't read? Or I don't write like The New Paper writes, with blaring headlines and a graphic picture to make you want to pick it up, or in the case of a blog, type in my URL into your browser.

You didn't have to read all that anyway, I'm thinking by typing, thinking aloud, if you like.

Now for the update...

- Met Joey and Jeanie yesterday to hangout at the very cool Lot 1! Had fun irritating Joey and entertaining Jeanie in the process, but really I had fun just spending time with my favourite people as Sharon calls them! .) Thank you brother and sister!

- Joey stayed over and we had a good albeit short time of chatting and then falling asleep promptly as the clock struck 12.

- Woke up at 630am, felt good to sleep almost 7 hours. How do I know that you ask? (You probably didn't ask but anyway...) I didn't fall asleep in Papa's car!

- Joey didn't use the brand new toothbrush my mum specially set aside for him to use (Now what are the implica... uh nevermind).

- Duty today, that's why I'm updating!

- Happy cos I am looking forward to see my girlfriend this weekend! Yay!

Hehe...

An Exciting Sunday!

Started the day at church climbing up to level five for Sola Gratia publicity presentation, which was highly amusing, with an amazing group like Sharon!!!, Johann, Vanessa and Daniel, it'll never be boring can!

Adjourned for 2nd service, I thought the worship was technically very good! Dynamic! Peter and Freda! Husband and wife ministry, how happening! Next time right... Haha nevermind...

The preacher, a Rev. Dr. Abel Thomas was good too, commanded the attention of all those listening! Very forthright and in your face! Alas, couldn't stay for the spiritual truths he was pounding out...

I played with Gid's team (Sharon! yay!) Boyfriend and girlfriend ministry can? Hahaha.. Okok, moving right on... Worship was great, felt great to worship so freely, bopping, bouncing and almost flying! The youth music team might just be getting somewhere! I pray that God will just multiply our talents to give Him glory! Woooohooo! Pray for CAMY!

Sermon was cute, haha! I felt like I was in a Sunday School class, calling girlfriends and boyfriends, "special friends" and when a boy wants to help a girl across the road, he is advised to ask her for permission to hold her... ELBOW?! Haha, but I have to say it's good practical advice for the younger ones!

Lunch with Daniel, Theo, Lester, Germ & miLady (Sharon lah, no one else)! Twas fun bumming and walking around lugging my stuff around... not! Gee... Jon got a real catch of a guitar! He'll prolly be posting pictures and talking about it real soon, so keep your eyes peeled on his blog!

Headed to Jenn's Senja Abode! He had four ang paos waiting to be picked, all of different values, haha... Sharon got $10, I got $6, Van got $4 and Jon... got $2 and RM2! He insists it's for the retreat! Hahaha... We had a nice dinner, a buffet of sorts with dessert! There was after meal entertainment by 'The Other Side of Glory', I enjoyed myself!

O o! We also placed Jenn's new coffin stick case with two mandarin oranges at his door for him! Jon and I bought him the case for all the presents that he should get from us from this year till the next! Hahaha.. But no, I got it cos he's been sucha blessing and I can't repay all of it... only some.. Haha thank you Jenn! Woooo!

And then... Sorry don't tell you. .P Happy Valentine's Day one and all!

Da Nian Chu Yi - Big Year Day One

Chu Yi (Day One) - The same faces that I haven't seen in a year, most of them anyway. The day started really late at 2pm, lunch at my papa's 2nd sister, we call her gu ma. Her killa curry always kicks serious butt.

After doing nothing, something lah but nothing much really, for 2 hours we headed to my mummy's eldest uncle's place (which coincidentally is right next to Theodora and Vanessa's block)

Shook the most hands I will ever shake in sucha short span of time for the whole of this year, unless I usher in Church.

Dinner was the same, same food every year, but it's good food! Lotsa ang baos with very little money and a little new year goodies, looking at every cute toddler (one even shares the same birthday as me!) Did nothing somemore and went to Vanessa's place to bai nian! Sat for a while, watch the girl eat her homemade soba and we headed out to town to meet...

Joey, Maisie, Jeanie Johann, Joel, Ricky, Shaun, Lester, Lester's cousin, Meiqi, Ben, Serene, and Serene's sister (dunno her name both Joey and Maisie's cousins)! Did I miss anyone out?

The initial plan was to watch a movie, but we adjourned to Starbucks after finding out that Olio was closed and Coffee Bean was packed. I enjoyed walking the length of Borders a coupla times!

Upon reaching Starbucks we arranged the furniture to fit our big group and managed to chase some patrons out too! Got some drinks and started playing stupid teediditeeteedidi game with our fingers! Alas I emerged the winner, something I don't do a lot, winning.

We had fun and Ricky drove some of us home! Woop! I must get a license!!!

Same Thang Every Year

We go through the motions year in year out, and as the years pass right, it seems to me that the atmosphere is getting less and less festive.

Will we be struggling to keep the traditions alive when the older generations pass on? Will we even try to meet up, have reunion dinner, say prosperous greetings in deep four-worded Chinese proverbs, visit with two mandarin oranges in hand, bake new year goodies, toss yu sheng and give out ang baos?

Some of these traditions have already been lost, I didn't toss yu sheng, I've never baked new year goodies (I'd love to learn!) and say prosperous greetings. I go visiting much less now, maybe because I've grown up and I don't tag along with my folks so much nowadays.

But I still love 'em, though we don't look at things eye to eye, and I wonder if they know that I love them!

My dress sense sucks, I tried to do something funky but it didn't work out...

But as long as I am the handsom-est to one (or a few), that'd be good enough!

Jittery Me

I must confess that I was very very very nervous when I served the food! I'm no chef but I've cooked for quite a few people before and this was the first time it felt so nervewrecking! My goodness! Thank God, the food came out pretty good!

And.

And! Singing to a person was never this tough, when I've sang in gigs and all that, it took every ounce of my being to calm myself down, to pitch the notes right, to breathe and then to look the lady in the eye. It wasn't my best performance but it didn't matter, I did what I had to do and she said "Yes." That's all that mattered for me.

Thank you girlfriend, my sweetness.

p/s: If you still have no idea what I am talking about, scroll down for a visual + reading experience and share my joy! Good night everyone, I am STILL so happy! Happier even! Haha...

No Longer Single, I Now Play Doubles!

Well, figuratively at least! I don't play any sports much less to say a sport that involves other players!

I digress. How can I?! This news is so exciting! Stay with me as I regale you my tale.

Yesterday was the Third of Feb, just two months ago, a certain pretty girl and me confessed our positive feelings for each other! Most of you should know by now who it is.. If you don't, then read lah!

And so we've been getting to know each other as time passed and I decided to ask her to be my... drumroll please! Girlfriend!

But.. I can't do it just like that right? So I went through some efforts to well create a little feast before I pop the question! Look below!

The appetizer was a Smoked Salmon Caesar Salad followed by a Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Prawns and Shrooms! It turned out nice, thank God, like really! Cos I was praying to God as I was panicking... Did I say panicking? I meant cooking! "Lord teach me how to cook!" And He did!

After lunch we adjourned to my room, where I took out my guitar, sat her down and sang her 2 songs. Copeland's Brightest and Surreal's The Proposal Song. It was with Surreal's song which I popped the question. The song goes like this...

I've been waiting for so long, for you to come and be with me now..
I say I'll be true to you and to the One who gave you to me...

I then added my own lyrics, the question!

Will you come and be with me now.. x2
*Here she nodded her head* then I said... "Must say one mah..."

Will you come and be with me now.. x2
What did you think she said?! Yes lah! Thank God! Thank you Sharon! .)

Ice cream followed the "proposal"... It was a remake of something we had a Fosters which we both really like! Thank you Joe for the Malibu, and I won't forsake you, nor my friends, also I'm no scum, you know that.

And now I have to sleep because I have to wake up at 530am for work tomorrow... But before that... I present us to you, Sharon & Liang aka biBi & baBa!

p/s: She gave that flower to me, isn't it pretty?! Heh. Good morning everyone, I'm so happy! Hehee
