Praying for Healing

Mark 1:40-41 (NASB)
40And a leper came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, "If You are willing, You can make me clean."

41Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed."
Mark 1:40-41 (NASB)

Here is an example of humble prayer when asking for healing, instead of a presumptious way of demanding that God heal this person and that person.

I believe we should approach Jesus in an humble manner and ask if He's willing first.

TIRR #004

Ever hear people say, "If God is not the Lord of all, He is not Lord at all"?

That is usually used in the context of someone's personal yielding of every area of his/her life to the Lord. That kind of God in control of our lives affects us.

There's the kind of control by God which we call the sovreignty of God and as I was worshipping yesterday, a revelation dawned on me!

If God is sovereign over my life, then He must be sovereign over my unbelieving parents' lives too. Why do I say that?

Because how can God be sovereign over my life if God is not in control of their's, because their lives affects mine.

So unless God is in control of everything, He's not in control at all.

If God is not Lord of all, He is not Lord at all.

God Keeps Me to Keep Myself

Inspired to read the verses mentioned below for devotion after a sermon and I listened by John Piper brought them to my mind.

Jude 24-25
24Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,

25to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

Wow God can keep me from stumbling! And I must keep myself from stumbling also by keeping myself in the love of God.

Jude 20-21
20But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

21keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

Bad boy

I was a bad boy, that's why I needed Jesus.
Once in a while, I con myself into thinking that I don't Him.
Then I realise how bad I become when I am without Him.

It's not a matter of whether I needed Jesus then.
It's a matter of needing Him every second of my life, and how much I choose to yield to Him.

Every day is a battle,
Every minute a skirmish,
Sometimes there are sweet respites
Other times I am caught off guard

I hear Him saying to me, "Keep praying so that you do not stumble and sin".

Jesus I am a bad boy and I need you.
You keep me sane in this spinning world of madness and evil.
You purify me each day as I sin each day.
You keep me as I keep on praying.
I just need You, Lord.

TIRR #003

My dad recently found out that the Jews and Arabs are actually cousins and the recent Middle Eastern conflicts have perked his interest a little.

As he was driving me to work he started talking about it and he asked a question related to the Triune God (Trinity) and though I knew the answers it was hard for me to explain in mandarin.

So you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna attend chinese service to better verse myself in chinese evangelism, so who's coming with me?

TIRR #002

669 days have passed since I started blogging here at The Polaroid Show (TPS) with this post and I actually had something like a random yawp like Joey's except it never got past issue 1 and so now I'm gonna try and revive it, see I say try because that way I excuse myself from any failure to continue it pass issue 2.

Ok so here I go,

Why is it people like to use the term camwhoring when they take a lot of photos of themselves ? I wonder why they demean theirselves by calling themselves a cam whore? Click below for the entry on Wikipedia for "Cam Whore".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camwhore

While you're at it, check out this link:
How to become an obnoxious internet cam whore in five easy steps.
It's quite funny lah.

So the next time you wanna say you're camwhoring, think again, please.

O and uh if you were wondering what a TIRR is, it's short for thoughts / ideas / realisations / revelations!
