Back To Cell

I was meaning to blog about cell last week. I actually had a very good time though I thought the songs and style of worship which Jon and I led didn't quite cut it.

Perhaps it was a little too emo?

Anyhow, I enjoyed the lotus root soup, mandarin-let thingies which sister Jo provided! Which reminds me of the ol' days of SHUG cell that was at Jolene's place. Mmm.. those were good days, always Warmth, Worship, then Word!

Since the church will be doing Mass Bible Study (MBS) our cell will be doing lessons by the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP). That first lesson was about God's design, us. In short it talked about how we should accept how we've been designed, if we do not do that, we are basically telling God, "Hey God, you're a flawed designer.."! How cardinal is that?

I like this IBLP thing, rocks my world! The kind of thing I like, discourse discourse! Reminds me of da writcomm days!

The other thing I'm really looking forward to is Precept Bible Study! I'll start going on the 15th! Oh yeah!!! If you're free on Tuesday nights, I think Jenn and I will be delighted to have you join us for this amazing bible study! How's that for an update sir? .P

An Update!

Ha! Was anyone waiting for an update? Hehe, I'm sorry if you were!

You see, I'm really busy, what with the church commitments, spending time with a certain someone *wiNk winK* hehe.. yeaaaaa!

Anyway, Recluse had a great time jamming today! We actually came up with a new song from scratch and it's a implicitly Christian song! More explicit then any the band has I think!

It goes something like this...

I'm standing at your door
But you didn't see me

I'm knocking at your heart
But you didn't answer

Chorus kinda goes...
Open up your heart to me

and the bridge goes...
I'm standing right here so won't you open up

We'll play it the next time Recluse plays! Ok! Yay! Good night everyone.

Nice Dinna

Just came back from a dinner with Jeanie, Cheryl, Johann and Jon! At at... CCK! Some hawker centre place. Food was quite good, company was superb! Thank you friends.

We then drove in to pick Joey up from Sungei Gedong (that'd be the far side of the world), his colleagues made him down 2 cans of beer, so it was a high-Joe, highly amusing too! He's in the bathroom showering now, sure make noise when he reads this, hahaha!

We chilled at Cheryl's poolside (pool without water!) and then parted ways, nice short evening! Yes, so here's updating 2LT. Joey Tan, sir.

Fun Filled January Weekend!!

Just got back from the National Stadium with over 50,000 fellow Singaporeans, watching the Lions beat the Indons was sweet! Final score, 2-1 we win with a 5-2 aggregate! It's been a while since I've witnessed such Singapura spirit, actually, I don't remember if I ever witnessed and took part in such a big scale Singapura event!

I had a great time thanks to Jeanie, Joey and Daniel Soh! People who close in proximity to me at the match.. Hehe.

I had a sweet weekend, in all senses of the word, bwahaha, thank you B! .)

Thank you Lord for seeing me through the week, thank You!

Jar Chen

My cousin, you came to church today, I'm so happy ok? And surprised how easily you agreed to come!

It was a nice day hanging out with ya cuz, sorry I never update you uh and for not meeting you!

I wanna see you go to church bro, I wanna see you grow, God blesses those who follow Him, those who don't let up, those who don't settle on being "just fine".

It's always so easy to talk with you even if we don't talk for months. It's like in Sims, there's the lifelong bar, ours is like way up there, even though the temporary bar might not be that high but I know I can call you up anytime and we'll open up like this *snap fingers*

This verse is for you, it's from the song More Than Fine by Switchfoot

I'm not givin' up, givin' up, not givin' up now
I'm not givin' up, givin' up, not backing down

More than fine, more than bent on getting by
More than fine, more than just ok

Hang in there cuz.

Maybe, Maybe Not

And I believe the Lord is saying to me...

Remember the Giver not the gift, if He so chooses to give then no want can take it away.

Forgive me if I've taken to running my life, myself. Forgive me for not putting you above everyone and everything.

"You give and take away, and still I say: Blessed be Your name."

I also wrote this, it's like God asking me...

If my whole world came crumbling down
Would I fall down with it?

If everything I knew was gone
Would I runaway from You?

Would I stand without anyone or anything but You?

Finally...

She said, "I am starting to have a good feeling about this."

The New Year

All Glory to God!
Happy new year everyone!

2004 has been a year of blessing, and according to our church's theme for last year, it was the year of discipleship. I wasn't the best disciple, hehe, but I've been blessed tremendously by God in different areas of my life.

Did I mention that I'm in the worship team already? Finally, after 2 years of me being stubborn and finally yielding to Him the last year. Strangely it's got nothing to do with emotional highs, but rather, listening to sermons, bible studies and serving in ministry and lotsa prayer for me from dear ones. I'm not content with where I am with the Lord, MORE!

I have no mindblowing testimony to share, only that of God's faithfulness which I am so grateful to God, He has placed such faithful folks in my life, like Jenn, Joey and Cuixian, they knew my screw ups yet they helped me through! 2 years is not a forever time frame but it was so GOOD!

I always knew that God is forever faithful but He has put such people in my life and I see, tangibly, His faithfulness. Thank you Lord, thank you people.

There was a time when I could see no end to my habitual sin and no way on earth was I going to be on the worship team with all my sins and what not, but you see, God is faithful. He tided me through, it is nothing of my doing, I have no strength, God gives me strength, thank you Jesus!

You're the One by The Sonic Edge Band

You're the One
That I need
In your Son I believe

Died for me
For my sin
And Your blood
Makes me clean

Now I seeYour love for me

I never imagined that
You could come into my life
And You've always been faithful
even though I strayed far away

Ooooooo and I love you

I love you Lord, thank You.
All Glory to God.
