Love at first sight

The tagline for the movie Closer went something like this... "If you believe in love at first sight, you never stop looking..."

Now if I may again, expound...

"If you still think true love is a feeling, then you'll never truly love." .)

Standing Together

Colossians 2:1-3
1For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen my face, 2that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Among the many things I learnt today at Bible Study, I learnt we (the local church, for me Grace Assembly) that our hearts have to be knit together in love so that we may attain all the wealth of full assurance of understanding!

What are you doing to knit your hearts in love with your local church, ministry, cell? Cecilia, says that when our hearts are knit together there'll be a bond for us to be open and to share honestly so that we may attain all that wealth!

So we must seek to unite in love but not at the expense of being allowing false teachings to creep into the community of believers, our local church! Always seek to unite! O how important that is! If not we will not experience what Paul tells us we'll be able to achieve! WE MUST STAND TOGETHER!

One other thing, that is in v.1, note the word struggle, we have to struggle on behalf of the ministry! What struggle? Paul's talking about praying here and the greek word used here is agon from which we get the word agonise! Just like Paul agonised and struggled in prayer for the Colossians, Laodiceans, so we too have to labour, struggle and agonise for the ministry! Pray for our pastors, cell leaders, worship team, ushers, and congregation!

(Agon actually means the assembly of the Greeks at their national games)

We the Planets

May I add on to John Piper, wahahaha, how dare I put myself to add stuff to what Mr Piper has said but I'll do it anyway 'cos it's my blog!

We are like planets and we have to be held in orbit to the sun (Jesus), if not we're gonna crash into each other and end up destroying each other or we might end up orbiting around the earth like the moon. You see the earth orbits around the sun at a precise distance from the sun in order to sustain life!

And we if stray too far away we'll become cold and barren yet if we come to close we can burn for him! Haha, ok I was doing well until it came to being too close to the sun! But it's true the veil has been torn from the top down, we are free to worship God in spirit and in truth!

Jesus the Sun

So it is with the supremacy of Christ in your life. All the planets of your life—your sexuality and desires, your commitments and beliefs, your aspirations and dreams, your attitudes and convictions, your habits and disciplines, your solitude and relationships, your labor and leisure, your thinking and feeling—all the planets of your life are held in orbit by the greatness and gravity and blazing brightness of the supremacy of Jesus Christ at the center of your life. And if he ceases to be the bright, blazing, satisfying beauty at the center of your life, the planets will fly into confusion, and a hundred things will be out of control, and sooner or later they will crash into destruction. -John Piper

Who'd Have Thought

I got home on Sunday midnight and was surprised that the lights in my house were all on, and then my father told me, "Our house has been broken into".

Turns out that the thief smashed my fibreglass windows and jacked my grilles out! Spent a good long time in my parents' room and stole a lotta stuff, including some old dollar notes which my late granny left us!

The point of the post is this, that if this can happen to me then it can happen to anyone. Thing is unless you have someone at home all the time you should up your security at home, if not some thief is waiting to strike. I live on a level with only 2 units of flats so if the neighbour is out then no one will be there!

Worse thing is that house breaking has occurred on several occasions in my block but there hasn't been any warning to any of the residents! But my father also said that we won't be doing much even if there was much warning, but really it can happen to anyone!

So be vigiliant!
