Standing Together

Colossians 2:1-3
1For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen my face, 2that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Among the many things I learnt today at Bible Study, I learnt we (the local church, for me Grace Assembly) that our hearts have to be knit together in love so that we may attain all the wealth of full assurance of understanding!

What are you doing to knit your hearts in love with your local church, ministry, cell? Cecilia, says that when our hearts are knit together there'll be a bond for us to be open and to share honestly so that we may attain all that wealth!

So we must seek to unite in love but not at the expense of being allowing false teachings to creep into the community of believers, our local church! Always seek to unite! O how important that is! If not we will not experience what Paul tells us we'll be able to achieve! WE MUST STAND TOGETHER!

One other thing, that is in v.1, note the word struggle, we have to struggle on behalf of the ministry! What struggle? Paul's talking about praying here and the greek word used here is agon from which we get the word agonise! Just like Paul agonised and struggled in prayer for the Colossians, Laodiceans, so we too have to labour, struggle and agonise for the ministry! Pray for our pastors, cell leaders, worship team, ushers, and congregation!

(Agon actually means the assembly of the Greeks at their national games)
